What Hygo is looking for
From Hygo’s job description:
Studio has a loosely ran affiliate program today. We have a product with strong retention, multiple subscription tiers, and a credit-based spending model — but zero infrastructure for partner-driven acquisition. We need a leader who can design the program, build the systems, recruit the partners, and own the P&L for this entire channel.
Required skills (from the JD):
- 5+ years in affiliate marketing, partner sales, or channel sales — with at least one experience building a program from zero (not just inheriting and optimizing)
- Proven track record recruiting and managing affiliates or sales partners at scale — personally built a partner roster generating meaningful revenue
- Strong understanding of affiliate mechanics: attribution models, commission structures, cookie windows, fraud prevention, payout operations
- Sales skills — pitching, negotiating, closing partnerships from individual creators to agencies
- Leadership ability — building a team and a system, not just doing deals
- Data-driven decision making — unit economics, channel ROI justification
- Experience with affiliate platforms and tooling
- Self-starter — no existing program, team, or playbook
- Bonus: SaaS, creator economy, subscription products; selling to both individuals and agencies; AI/tech product familiarity
How AIEH maps this role to a Skills Passport bundle
| Family | Relevance | Why it matters here |
|---|---|---|
| Communication | 0.85 | Pitching partnerships, negotiating commissions, partner enablement materials, recruiting messaging — communication is the dominant skill across the entire role surface. |
| Big Five Personality | 0.80 | High Extraversion + Agreeableness predict the relationship-building and sales-conversation work. High Conscientiousness predicts the systematic program-building (commission structure, tracking, payout ops). The JD demands all three. |
| Situational Judgment | 0.80 | Commission structure design, attribution disputes, partner escalations, fraud detection — every section of this role is judgment-under-tradeoffs work. |
| Cognitive Reasoning | 0.75 | ”Data-driven decision making — unit economics, channel ROI” requires quantitative reasoning. LTV:CAC analysis is reasoning under uncertainty. |
Pillar weights for this role
- Communication: 0.35 — heaviest weight. Pitching, partner enablement, team building, escalation handling all are communication-dominant.
- Domain: 0.30 — affiliate marketing + program building expertise.
- Cognitive: 0.25 — bumped above default. Unit economics + attribution modeling + LTV:CAC analysis are cognitive-load work where quantitative reasoning predicts good program design.
- AI fluency: 0.10 — minimal. AI tooling matters peripherally.
The composite score on the 300-850 calibrated scale is what Hygo can use to compare candidates without forcing each through their own recruiting test.

What AIEH cannot test (Hygo screens directly)
- “Built a program from zero” experience — the JD’s explicit non-negotiable. Bring case studies: which company, which program, what did the program look like before vs after, what revenue did it generate.
- Partner roster track record — specific affiliates you’ve recruited, the revenue they generated, the relationships you maintained.
- Affiliate platform / tooling experience — Impact, PartnerStack, Tapfiliate, Refersion, custom builds. Show the systems you’ve operated.
- Sales close rate + deal size — references and numbers.
- Team leadership — direct reports you’ve managed or hired.
The interview process is Call, Test, Call. Expect a strategic exercise in the test stage — likely a “design a Hygo affiliate program from these constraints” challenge.
